Before there were parenting blogs, trophies for showing up, and peanut allergies, there was a simpler time called the '80s. For geeky 11-year old Adam these were his wonder years and he faced them armed with a video camera to capture all the crazy. The Goldbergs are a loving family like any other, just with a lot more yelling.

Season 2 Episode 16: The Lost Boy
Adam(Sean Giambrone)needs to pee while at a Phillies game with his dad Murray. Murray tells him to go but Adam is too scared to go by himself so Murray has to accompany him to the men's room, however Adam(who is narrating this whole time)is put off by the condition of the men's room(with the trough and the rough condition of the stall)he attempts in vain to relieve himself at the trough but cannot due to "stage fright" so has to go back to his seats still desperate to pee. Later on Adam narrates that he was battling the "64 ounces of Mountain Dew in his bladder" and admits to Murray that he didn't go earlier but Murray tells him that because the "Bases are loaded" he's not taking him again and Adam will have to go by himself. Adam reluctantly heads to the bathroom to try and go again but is unable to get over his fears so he decides to head to the upper levels of the stadium and try the bathrooms there figuring the higher he goes the better they'll get, but the condition of those bathrooms is no better. Adam is about to give up and head back to his seat but he realizes he is lost and has no idea how to get back to his seat. In a later scene he tells a security guard he's lost and the guard suggests he sit and wait with the other lost kids and Adam finally reaches his breaking point and rants saying "No! Not today! I'm lost, I'm starving, and I still haven't peed" and he finally braves the rooms to relieve himself off-screen.
