Life is really tough for Julie Kessler and Billy Epstein, two thirty-something aspiring comics living and working in New York City. While their friends and acquaintances move on to find success and love, they continue to struggle with careers and relationships, getting more bitter by the day.

Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot
Julie(Julie Klausner) mentions how badly she needs to pee while walking with her friends and searching for the subway, one of her friends suggests getting a car and Julie says she'll get an Uber, Julie then realizes she has someone else's phone by mistake and asks one of her friends if he can call the Uber reiterating that she really has to go to the bathroom while squirming uncomfortably in desperation. Julie asks how far away the driver is and gets told she's 18 minutes away to which she moans that she can't hold it for that long while squirming some more. She then gets told the driver is unavailable and her friend reads off some tweets from his phone to distract her and he's surprised to come across a tweet from Julie(from the person whose phone she has)saying she's a bad person who deserves to get pissed on and Julie then pees herself in shock and we hear some audio of her peeing and see a puddle growing on the sidewalk.
