Scenes
Jack (Zac Efron) is stung by jellyfish at the beach, and three student nurses say he needs urine to remedy the stings. One of them stands over him and pulls her bathing suit aside, but Jack's companion Charlotte (Nicole Kidman) pushes her aside. Charlotte declares, "If anyone's gonna piss on him, it's gonna be me. He don't like strangers peein' on him." She squats over him and pees on his chest. The stream is briefly shown coming through her bathing suit, and then in an out-of-focus shot that doesn't show its source. Press reports indicate that it was not faked, but it is filmed so poorly that this is not clear. When director Lee Daniels had second thoughts about keeping the scene in the movie, Kidman would not let him remove it because it had been such a challenge to film. Efron, who was supposed to be passed out from the stings, found it difficult to keep from grinning as Kidman was peeing on him. In the next scene Jack wakes up in bed and is informed that Charlotte had saved his life by urinating on him.
Jack pees in a swamp, with his back turned to us and his older brother Ward (Matthew McConaughey).
Jack says that Ward's house smells like piss.
