Young Jeremiah lives in a stable environment with loving foster parents until the day his troubled mother, Sarah, returns to claim him. Jeremiah becomes swept up in his mother's dangerous world of drugs, seedy hotels, strip joints and revolving lovers. Salvation comes in the form of the boy's ultrareligious grandparents, but soon Jeremiah's mother returns. Scenes
Sarah (Asia Argento) sits on the toilet and pees and then wipes while her son Jeremiah (Jimmy Bennett) is in the bathtub (which has been turned into a makeshift bed). She does not flush. She then discovers that Jeremiah has wet himself, which leads to him being abused by her boyfriend.
There may be other scenes in which Jeremiah is said to have wet himself.
Later, Jeremiah (now played by twins Dylan & Cole Sprouse) walks up to a dumpster and pees briefly on it before diving inside and looking for food scraps.
In a deleted scene that was not used in the film but is present in footage from the set, Jeremiah (played by the Sprouse twins) is peeing in the parking lot at a truck stop when a girl named "Milkshake" walks up to him and tells him to put it away.
